Whats worse on a male date..back hair or bad teeth?
I agree with you....the hair problem can be solved, the dental...well thats a big problem.
Reply:That's a hard one.I'm gonna have to say bad teeth.
Reply:well how much hair are we talking about? you're right he could just wax it. so i'm gonna have to say bad teeth is worse.
Reply:Bad teeth cause it's fixable. How do you completely prevent back hair from growing back?
Reply:bad teeth
Reply:breasts
Reply:Absolutely!!!!!!!!!! You don't have to look at his back, and you can always shave or wax it. Bad teeth, yep.........major overhaul.

I want to fix my bad teeth but I am embarassed...should I feel that way?

I have crooked bottom teeth(the front three), and two of my wisdom teeth have gone bad...but I am too embarassed to go to the dentist and tell him the whole situation on why it is like that. I didn't take good care of them when I was a kid cause you know how kids are sometimes...neglectful!

I want to fix my bad teeth but I am embarassed...should I feel that way?
Don't worry about this. We hear the same story every day of the week and this is what we DO. MANY people did not have it so good in their childhood and find themselves in the same situation as you. It's just a good thing that you recognize this and are now ready and able to take care of things.
Reply:yeah it's definetly normal to feel embarassed, but dont worry you're going to an open place where people are welcomed to talk about such problems. They are there to help you...
Reply:there is nothing to be embarrassed about remember a dentist makes his money by fixing peoples teeth.
Reply:Fix your teeth because they will only get worse. I know it is so easy to put off going to the dentist, but you will be better off in the long run if you do something about it now. I just buckled down and went to the dentist last month and the dentist found 3 cavities. I have one more to fill and if he said if I waited any longer I would need root canals! When it comes to dental work, the sooner the better! And trust me, you may think your teeth are bad, but I am sure they see it everyday!
Reply:It's normal to feel embarrassed about that. My bottom tooth is very crooked because my teeth shifted and broke my retainer--my orthodontist didn't believe in removing teeth (except wisdom teeth) to make room for other teeth, and my mouth is too small.

This is what you should remember: the dentist has always seen worse. I was once embarrassed to go in about a tooth that I had let go and I almost needed a root canal. However, my dentist was so nice and he helped me out!

The next patient had about 12 cavities and very bad teeth. The man could hardly speak English, had no insurance, and a labor job. I felt so bad for him, but my dentist was very patient and kind. I could tell that the guy was embarrassed. I felt so bad for him!

Just remember, they have always seen worse!
Reply:yes, you should be embarrassed. Bad teeth and gums can lead to serious health problems. Stop being a cheapskate and spend money and go to the dentist ... don't you care about yourself?
Reply:No not at all. Well of course you'll feel like that because its an insecurities butt basically its just a flaw. A flaw that can be fixed. Dentist have seen ALL types of teeth so the only thing you should be worried about is having them corrected. Would you feel more insecure by going to a dentist and having it fixed or by living with your teeth that way for the rest of your life?
Reply:You should not feel embarrassed. A dentist is there to serve you, that's his job. He will not mind no matter how bad they are, the worse they are the more money he will make.

Its like going to the gynecologist, whether its one end or the other,

a doctor is a doctor, their specialties are just different.

Go now, if you wait, it could lead to gum disease, and then you really will have problems. just think of how self conscious you have always been, now, think of how proud you will be. i bet you are smiling-get going, you deserve it! merry christmas-
Reply:I wouldn't be embarrassed they see it all the time. I hadn't been to the dentist for 8 years and they were very friendly and made me feel comfortable. I was fearing the dentist and I wish I would have went sooner. I hope you have insurance because it will be expensive with out it.
Reply:no,i had the same problem plus was a little down about the pain that i thought dentist would bring me how ever im 40 now and dentist changed a bunch since i was a kid didnt hurt hardly at to get that shot they have new stuff to fix your teeth with they almost rebuilt the entire to front all the teeth and did a fantastic job and it;s incentive as an adult to keep them that way go for it good luck youll be glad you did
Reply:y r u embarrassed ppl live and learn and how else will they get fixed if u don't tell the dentist. actually, you shouldnt mine telling them becuz they r d only ones that can fix it. dentist will always understand

Will a partial make your other teeth go bad?

I never had bad teeth until I got one in the front and had to get a partial .couldnt afford a root canal now my teeth on both sides of the partial is going bad.

Will a partial make your other teeth go bad?
I've worked in Dental for over three years, and we typically find that as long as you are dilligent about keeping your partial clean, it will not affect the health of your other teeth
Reply:ok, thanks for your answer but with all the bleachings and cleanings my teeth and parital is very clean lol... thats why i thought it was the wire crossing cause thats the only tooth bad in my mouth.thanks again. Report It

Reply:the partial will not make y our teeth go bad but you have to clean well around it
Reply:the partial will not make your teeth go bad. you have to make sure to clean really well around the partial and remove it and clean it as well.

Can you inherit bad teeth from your parents??

my sis in law reckons her kid has bad teeth cause the kids dad does ,is this right ? or just an excuse,x

Can you inherit bad teeth from your parents??
Mostly an excuse but there are hereditary conditions such as

amelogenesis imperfecta.

If mom has a bad diet, then usually the kids do too. If she believes that she has no control over the kids healthy smile, then how can the kids learn? Anyway, the parents can be reported to CYS for neglecting the child's teeth. Decay is a preventable disease!
Reply:I would say a little bit of both. The enamel on my husbands teeth is softer than the average person, so he is more likely to get cavities etc. The dentist told him that he could have inherited that from his parents, and his mom also has problems with her teeth.

But, taking care of your teeth and visiting a dentist regularly is key. Don't let your sister in law use genes as an excuse not to take care of her kids teeth.
Reply:not exactly, cause u dont know how they delt with there teeth, but of course there is a parental genes
Reply:Bad in terms of positioning %26amp; physical characteristics, 10%.

Other 90% is due to nutrition %26amp; hygeine taught by family.
Reply:excuse probly... I think that you bring bad teeth upon yourself.. like when you first loose your teeth they are white and stuff... so yeah you dont inherit them I think
Reply:Bad teeth are due to improper diet, which begins when their moms ate poorly when pregnant with them %26amp; poor dental hygiene. Many babies grow up with bad teeth because they were given a milk bottle at bedtime for years. Then parents wonder why their child has bad teeth. Sheesh!!!!

I have really bad teeth what are my options other than dentures?

Due to a really bad past with drugs my teeth are now rotten what are my options other than dentures? I really do not want the incovience of dentures but HAVE to do something. I am in constant pain and really sick of it any advice?

I have really bad teeth what are my options other than dentures?
The best thing to do is go to the dentist for a consultation to discuss your options.Keep in mind that full mouth implants will cost about$30,000 and dentures will cost anywhere from $1100 to $4000 depending where you go.
Reply:At the bare minimum you are probably looking at getting a partial, depending on how many teeth you have left that are in good shape. However if they are all bad you are looking at dentures. Implants are a possibility but they are around $3000.00 per implant.
Reply:I know several people with dentures and they don't mind them at all, also I have seen some horror stories about caps and other things that cover your real teeth.
Reply:Hey, how are you this evening?

I don't know the exact name of the procedure, but I would deffinately check with your dentist. They may us Porcelein fittings. I could be wrong. I highly advise you to check with your dental hygenist.
Reply:Ask your dentist about implants. It is more expensive, but you wouldn't have to take them in %26amp; out.

Watch out for root canals - they turn your teeth into "peanut brittle". You can put a cap on to protect it but those can crack or break. Once the tooth breaks, it could shatter (like mine did) and have to be removed in pieces.
Reply:you could try porcelain veneers
Reply:If you are truly past your drug history, are generally healthy (i.e. no uncontrolled diabetes, don't smoke), and are willing to commit to caring for your mouth in the future implants can provide a wonderful restorative option. Implants can support dentures, but they can also support individual crowns (caps) and fixed bridges. Your dentist should take necessary xrays and perform a variety of other studies and measurements to determine if you are a candidate for implants. In some instance the dentist may be able to remove the tooth and place an implant at the same visit, but sometimes some time may be needed to allow infection to resolve. Interim dentures may help with appearance until the implants can be placed and the crowns placed. If implants are something you are considering make sure when you have your teeth removed site preservation efforts are undertaken (i.e. bone grafting.) Approaching your future dental treatment in a comprehensive manner with your dental goals in mind can more predictably yield these results. Also be direct with your dentist about your drug abuse past. Costs can add up with implant restorations, but many dentist offer financing options to make good things happen. Good luck.
Reply:i dont think this is a place to advice u anything

the best thing u can do is..consult ur dentist n tell him that u dont want any dentures

he ll study ur case n advice u the best for u

u see..case selection is an important part of treatment n that can only be done after examining the case
Reply:i would suggest going and getting evaulated by your dentist. first you hafta see what is worth saving. hopefully your back teeth or canines haven't sufferred too much.

i am glad you are trying to take control of your health

it is a great step

if he can- i would hope to go with partials. inconvenient is true but more stable than full dentures

My boyfriend has bad teeth..?

my boyfriends teeth are pretty bad.. he has a lot of cavities and a lot of green cavities ( i think..) stuck under his gums..

he hasnt been to a dentist for AGES so they probably are not filled in or been checked out.. by kissing him or having oral sex with him, is it possible for him to make me sick?

My boyfriend has bad teeth..?
It is very possible that your boyfriend has advanced gum disease and yes, it is possible that he can spread the microbes to you. Do you brush at least twice daily and also floss? You should.

Your boyfriend will guaranteed lose all of his teeth by the age of 35 - 40 is he does not act immediately. The bone that surrounds each root of the teeth is called the Aveolor Bone and it constantly is in movement, unlike other bones in your body. This is why braces can help realign teeth and improve an offset bite. With that said periodontal disease will get so bad that the Aveolor Bone will recede (draw back) from the infected area and his teeth will literally fall out of his head.

For those of you who eat a lot of sugar or soda pop and can not get to a place to brush your teeth, a slice of a good age cheese will help bring the pH of the mouth down so the sugar does not have a chance to ferment into acid which eats away at the enamel on your teeth.
Reply:don't think so,.....other than gross you out.
Reply:NO i dont thank so bad he really needs to go to the dentist!!
Reply:If he truly has rampant decay like you describe, he has more than the normal amount of bacteria present. The longer he waits to address the problem the worse it will get. Also consider that if he is neglectful with personal hygiene and cleanliness, and is not taking care of rather obvious needs, just how intimate do you want to be with him?

Plant that makes bad teeth fall out.?

I have some teeth that have went bad with cavities and I have no health insurance at this time. My new job insurance doesn't kick in until Feburary 1st, I am in so much pain but the dentist said to get the work done it will cost over 3000 dollars I not sure what to do they want all of it up front. Any ideas or any way to get through the pain until Feburary

I have some bad teeth Need Help??????
look for a dentist that will give u temporary relief from your pain...

why did u wait so long for it before u seek a dentist any way?
Reply:string and a door knob wiill hurt like hell but take aleve and call me in the morning.
Reply:Wow!! I only see 2 options.....1) put it on a credit card...or 2) tuff it out You might try anbesol (it works on canker sores by deading the affected area)..but I think you may be beyond that.

Bless Your Heart.....
Reply:go to the free clinic.
Reply:oh, check the county in which you live.

see if you can get dental assistance.
Reply:Since you do work, you probably won't qualify for assistance. But you can call the nearest college that has a dental school and they will do the work for next to nothing. If you're in horrible pain, it would be worth it to drive a while to get there if you need to.

You can also go to www.carecredit.com. You apply to them and if you qualify (based on credit), they give you a card to use at the dentist and you pay Care Credit back. The rates and monthly payments are very reasonable.

You may also take 800 mg of Motrin every 6-8 hours for a few days. Keep your head elevated above your heart when you rest. It helps tremendously at night when the pain is the worst. Just lay on several pillows.

I hope you feel better soon!

I have 2 Bad teeth I need them Pulled but im low budget?

I have 2 really Bad teeth and I need them Pulled Im on a low income budget Is there anywhere that they can be Pulled in or around Southwest Louisiana? Im In horrible pain. Thany you in advance!

I have 2 Bad teeth I need them Pulled but im low budget?
I'm sure that if you phone a couple of dentists you'll find one that will allow you to be on a payment plan. No Dentist worth their salt should allow you to be in such pain without giving your options to help alleviate it

Otherwise, as suggested elsewhere, a Dental Hospital or College may be your only option.
Reply:if there is a dental school there go and see them
Reply:A good palce to check is to see if you have a Dental school near by they will do it for a fraction of the cost of a dental office. another option would be to go to one of those chain dental offices..You know the ones with like 10 offices within like 50 miles they usually do the work for cheaper then private practice. Or you can call around and see if an office will do payments...It's important to get them taken care of because if you have an infection it may travel from your mouth to your brain or other places and may make you really sick or even worse Kill you....Good Luck

My boyfriend has bad teeth and i want to tell him that he can fix it but?

i am afraid i might make him ambarrasse. He knows he has bad teeth.

how can i tell him that he can save money to fix it?

He feels insecure about it, i can see it in him. We are not from here in united state but i been here longer then him and i know he can do something about, i am not sure if he knows he can do something about.

should i leave it or how can i talk to him about it without making him feel unconfortable.

My boyfriend has bad teeth and i want to tell him that he can fix it but?
Bad teeth equals bad health. Any doctor will tell you that a lot of other diseases can start from or be made worse by bad dental health. So, this isn't an embarrasment issue, it's a health issue. Abcesses in the mouth can easily find themselves in the brain cavity - toxins from the little germies can cause heart damage and besides - you need you teeth to eat, smile and open the occasional stubborn peanut.

Not only can you say something - you should. Tell him what I just told you. Also, most cities have a free or sliding scale dental clinic -just call the health department. This isn't a vanity issue. It's a matter of sick or not sick.
Reply:And you kiss him? Ew! JK. I had a bf whose teeth were literally rotting out of his skull and I broke up with him because of it. Ditch him and go for a hotter guy.
Reply:girl dont tell him his teeth are ugly.

hahaha

its bad.

i was in the same situation a while ago but i got out of it...

i jsus broke up with him...

but i didnt tell him the reason...

dont do what i did.

juss stay with him...

maybe youll learn to live with it
Reply:He is your boyfriend and certainly he loves you. If you are sure that he loves you, he will not feel bad if you advise him But if you think you are scared to tell him even this simple thing then you should not keep such a boy friend.
Reply:Tell him he stinks and is ugly while you are at it. he'll be fine with it.

You can see it in him. Well, no you can't He can look in a mirror, same as you.

We are who we are and if you don't like him for who he is, move on to someone else. Find that perfect person. Good luck
Reply:If you feel it is important, you should tell him. Maybe just start by explaining that you are about to tell him something that he may not like right now, but you feel that it is important that he knows, and he will probably appreciate what you will tell him now, at a later date.

I have very bad teeth. Need alot of work, don't have alot of $. Any ideas???

Why my teeth are bad is a long story. But I cannot smile anymore.(haven't been able to for years) alot of cavitys, discolored, etc. Does anyone have any ideas about financial help for me? Like I said, Have some ins. but it will still cost me $1000's. I only make enough $ to support myself. Anything would be appreciated

I have very bad teeth. Need alot of work, don't have alot of $. Any ideas???
If you have insurance, go to a dental college.

When I was in grad school at USC, my regular dentist told me I needed a root canal. I was working at the time and my insurance didn't cover the entire cost of the procedure.

I went to the dental school and had it done for FREE! And they did a very good job. The next time I went to my dentist, he took Xrays "just to see" and he was impressed.
Reply:A lot of dentist will work with you on payment plans. Mine does. The key is to call around and check. Find someone compassionate. Get the most important work done first (probably the cavities). If you have a dental school in your area, I'd start there. A lot of the time, they'll do the work for a lot cheaper than a private dentist. Plus all the students are working with certified dentist.

Good luck with everything.
Reply:If you are low income, there's state programs to help with medical and dental.

Google your area for free clinics that offer dentistry. Normally there's like a couple weeks wait to see the dentist, but if you need alot of work, its worth it.
Reply:Maybe a dental school, see if they would work on your teeth as a teaching experience for free. I am not sure how good the work would be, however if your teeth are that bad, it's a health issue and it would be better than nothing.

Good luck to you.
Reply:I understand COMPLETELY. I'm going through the same thing. Crowns, fillings, you name it. I have recently given up my car, so I can afford to take better care of myself.

My dentist is taking it slowly and working on the worst teeth first. Unfortunately insurance will only cover up to a certain amount, so I've only been able to do a couple teeth a year. Slow?...yes! But as long as I keep going to the cleanings it won't get any worse, right?

Make sure you know what your insurance provider will cover so you don't go over the amount and find yourself in a bigger hole.

The dental school is a fairly good idea, but most dentists will work out a reasonable payment plan with you.

Other than that...I don't think a loan would be a good idea, where it would be another payment for you to make. And I don't mean this in a condescending way, but could you maybe get a small job on the side? Like house cleaning?
Reply:try a community action group in your area.ie jobs and family serives try anything ,you will get sick ,it is sick in the US there is little help but there is lots of money to kill folks in a war isnt there?mark my word you will get your do goodie gooders that a dead enemy boby is worth your teeth,i dont.you come first, good luck
Reply:Lots of good ideas here but I have heard of many good dentists across the border in Mexico if You live in Califonia or Arizona or even Texas you might want to do some research.I worked with a mexican girl who told me her teeth were so pretty because she had an awsome cheap dentist in Mexico.Really if your interested theres lots of info on the internet.Best wishes. Just type in Mexico and dental clinics do some research.just an idea it is much cheaper.

What's with Americans thinking the English have bad teeth?

I've recently heard that Americans think English people in general have bad teeth. Where did that notion come from? I don't know many people with bad teeth and usually if they do have them they fix them! Just because we don't get them capped with ridiculously white pieces of porcelain or whatever it is, like Americans do, doesn't mean they're bad. Lots of people get braces to actually fix their teeth rather than hide them. Has anyone heard about this? If so, why is it?

What's with Americans thinking the English have bad teeth?
I've never head that...
Reply:I have been to England and I did notice people with really nasty teeth. I dont know what it is. Im from L.A. and people here take care of thier teeth. Its not to hard just brush once in a while. Report It

Reply:hello...have you seen Austin Power movies?

Lol...its just a way to be silly, thats all
Reply:oh thats so stupid, I mean we have white trash meth addicts here in the U.S with teeth that are horrific.....we have NO room to talk!

I am glad that I take really good care of mine, but I dont assume that just because someone is from somewhere, they have bad teeth

I never got veneers or braces and my teeth are fairly crooked, but I felt that was just a minor flaw...and those can be cute!
Reply:Why do all brits think Americans are fat? Oh, wait. Ummm... Yeah...
Reply:i havent heard that but maybe its cause all the british colonial people have false teeth. like george washington
Reply:Because most Brits haven't had $10,000 worth of orthodontry to look like John Bunnell on World's Wildest Police Videos.
Reply:Americans are good in judging people through the country they lived in.
Reply:It's a stereotype that came from somewhere as you know. It might have come from the medieval era where people generally had bad teeth.
Reply:that small group of ppl are sterotyping you guys. While in return ur starotyping that ALL americans think english have bad teeth
Reply:I think they just assume every British person looks like Prince Charles
Reply:I didnt know that!!xx
Reply:I think the opposite is true.

But don't worry. You English should have an international campaign, flashing your pearly whites and showing the Americans that you own them! :p
Reply:Because we americans are obsessed with LOOKS. And if your teeth are crooked or discolored that's a big EWWWWWWWW!!!! to most of the shallow folk over here. Nothing more. Just like face-lifts and boob-jobs.

I'm not including myself in this shallow lot. :)
Reply:Austin Powers may have influenced the U.S. with his bad teeth. I don't know. I don't think you guys have bad teeth.
Reply:Unfortunately, due to a shortage of dentists, a lot of people in UK do have bad teeth. I think what the Americans are referring too isn't so much bad teeth as teeth that aren't perfectly straight. Personaly I think if people have perfectly straight teeth naturaly that's great, my daughters do, but if they are slightly crooked it adds character. There is too much pressure for everyone to look the same, what a boring world it would be if that every happened!
Reply:As an American, I don't think that.
Reply:i'd rather belong to a nation with bad teeth than one which-

invades every country when it feels like it

has a short cretin in charge with his finger on the armageddon button

has the worst civil rights record in the world

thinks its the greatest nation in the world and will bomb anybody who thinks different

remember Americans-we can get our teeth fixed---can you fix your problems so easily??
Reply:Because that is how they are portrayed in the movies that Americans watch. I only know one person from England and his teeth are really great. I pay attention to teeth for some reason....
Reply:I have heard that as well, i was told that English woman look like horses with huge teeth, that the men have rotten teeth and walk around in socks and sandals. That some of the woman have tattoos all over and look like they served in the navy as a skivvy, i have been told all these things, as a matter of fact i thought that Uk never ever got sunshine and cried for days before we moved here, i can now see that there are some people with bad teeth etc but on the whole the females in Britain are so beautiful that shocked me most of all, they were all supposed to look like horses:)
Reply:I can't say I've ever heard that (I'm in the UK by the way), but I was thinking the other day how many perfect teeth there are on American TV programs. NO-ONE has a bad smile, all the teeth are perfectly aligned and white. I know good teeth are an obsession in America but would it hurt to see someone with "normal" teeth once in a while??
Reply:British teeth are more natural and I hope they stay that way!
Reply:This is the first I've heard of it but I don't Like it when things are generalized like that. Stereotypes suck!
Reply:~1~ It's probably the chocolate. I'm pretty sure Brits eat more chocolate per capita than Americans do.

~2~ Americans are already used to sky high medical costs so that $5000 ortho bill gets paid without a blink.

~3~ Brit actors can have a junky grill and still get parts. With American actors, if your smile doesn't gleam like two feet of freshly fallen snow, you can forget it. The real question is why the BBC isn't afraid to show ugly people on tv.
Reply:Why is it that English people believe that Americans believe the English have bad teeth?

Yes I have heard the occasional comment to that effect, and it is probably due to the fact some Americans have their teeth covered.

Don't worry about it if a few Americans are ignorant about our denral health.

Dentstry began in Europe, not America, and cosmetic dentistry is a mask which hides the teeth.
Reply:lol...i love it when people complain about a generalization and then MAKE a generalization.

americans don't ALL ridiculously cap their teeth with "porcelain or whatever"...just like the english don't ALL have bad teeth.

thanks for making me laugh xx
Reply:I've heard it is something to do with people in the days when queen elizabeth the first reigned because she had really bad teeth because she loved marzipan and loads of people in britain had the same problem. It's stupid really because i live in britain and there are more people i know with nice teeth than with bad.
Reply:Go to England and see for your self.

Paper

Why do a lot of British people have bad teeth?

When I see them on TV a lot of British people have crooked or yellow teeth.

Even the Royal family have bad teeth.

I was watching British movie stars and many of them have bad teeth too!

Are Americans just obsessed with perfect teeth?

Why do a lot of British people have bad teeth?
The short answer is that we don't treat our water with fluoride as you Americans do. And in answer to your second query, yes, I believe Americans do obsess too much about "perfect" teeth.
Reply:Americans are obsessed with teeth whitening. I think our country is the most obsessed with hygiene.
Reply:If you're looking for a serious answer, I can give you one. Historically, rich people sported bad teeth as it showed they could afford sugar. Since Britain was the first industrialised country in the world, it was the first to have mass urbanisation, and as people moved off of farms the quality of their diets declined. This was a long time ago but the former factor in particular created a mindset that dental care wasn't a priority, and the American obsession with perfect teeth was frivolous.

However things are changing, as this news story below will tell you.
Reply:americans seem to be more self obsessed with there looks and having to all conform to the barbie and ken stereotype of girls bleached hair and guys dark hair big fake boobs fake nails fake tan or real over exposed sun damaged skin and the whitest straigtest teeth they can get whether they are their own or bought along with the rest of their fakeness.

if this seems unfair then maybe you americans should stop generalising about the british.

I have straight white teeth and they are all my own.

if you don't like to be put into stereotypes don't do it to us.

Also have you not watched jerry springer

the guests on that show dont usually have any teeth atall.

We could ask why are most americans obese..

if you're goin on actors well considering they only make up a tiny percentage of our population they are hardly anything to go on.

Just shows how superficial people can be doesnt it.
Reply:Could I ask in return why so many Americans are illiterate? (As evidenced by the first three posts in this thread!)

It beggars belief that anyone in a Western Industrialised nation could have such a poor level of education. And that they would be quite so happy to display it in a virtually racist post on a public forum!
Reply:I think that's a stereotype. I've only been to London twice, recently, and I thought everyone's teeth looked very nice. Also, the teeth of my British co-workers (all 4 of them) look better than mine! I HAVE seen what you're talking about, though. It's a shame that a few people make everyone else look bad.

They prolly would, but the Army doesn't go to sea. The navy you mean? The term you are probably looking for is Military. The army doesn't care if you have bad teeth I think although they will fix them. All ya ned is to be able to talk so u can go to war lol.
Reply:They should..but you will get physical first..and they will look at your mouth......
Reply:Do you plan on biting the enemy? If so, get dentures. Don't forget the polygrip!
Reply:A wife and two kids, and you want to go into the military? Things must be pretty rough in the bushit economy!

The army doesn't care about teeth. THey want warm bodies to send to Iraq. You shouldn't have any problem getting them to accept you and send you there. Just keep in mind, once you sign the paper, you can be turned into a grunt in no time. You and your wife better have some really serious talks before you do this. Iraq is not a video game.

Heroin addiction & bad teeth- why ?

why do alot of heroin addicts have really bad teeth (rotting %26amp; falling out etc) ?

is it the heroin itself, the methadone that they periodically use or just their lifestyle (not brushing or flossing etc) that causes this ?

Heroin addiction %26amp; bad teeth- why ?
Heroin dries out the saliva that is present to naturally combat bacteria. Meth and cocaine does the same.

Plus, when stoned all the time, people just don't care about much, other than the drug. Hygiene, sleep and food become things of he past.

Sad way to spend your life. But we all make choices and they have chosen badly.
Reply:Meth, cocaine, and heroin deplete your body of nutrients that are vital to the growth of skin, hair, and nails as well as teeth and tooth enamel. Also, heroin, meth, and cocaine all cause a decrease in appetite. Users don't eat as often as they should or sometimes not at all. That also causes tooth and hair loss, just like anorexia and bulimia. Really harcore users are so addicted that they'd rather spend money on the drugs than food.
Reply:Basically bad oral hyigene. The druggies are so involved in getting their next fix, they don't take care themselves. They also don't eat right and don't get the proper vitamins and minerals.

My boyfriend has bad teeth! How do I fix this!?

I love my boyfriend for him - not his looks, but lately, his teeth have been bothering me. They are perfectly straight, but i doesn't look like hes spent a lot of time brushing. He rarely has bad breath, but his teeth still look grimy and gunky. We recently spent our first weekend together in Santa Barbra and i didnt see him brush once! How can i fix this without hurting his feelings!

My boyfriend has bad teeth! How do I fix this!?
haha i had the same problem.. I mentioned to him that I was going to the dentist and then casually was like.. "whens the last time you went.. " and got into the whole teeth thing but if your with him again for days and he doesnt brush.. just ask him when your brushing, "do you want me to move over so you can brush at the sink too?" or something like that...
Reply:try 2 bring it 2 him nicly
Reply:just talk to him teach him hygiene
Reply:if you cant be honest with him, then don't date him. I think he would appreciate your honesty.
Reply:TELL HIM THE TRUTH or become a dentist! If you care about him you won't let him continue to be an embarrassment because of his terrible oral hygiene problem.
Reply:stare at his mouth obsessively and when he asks, " whats wrong? saying nothing, but i think there is something in your teeth. the end
Reply:tell him that it is bothering you. talk to him
Reply:hit his teeth with a bat
Reply:You have to confront him and let him know that good oral hygiene is important to you. If he doesn't take care of his teeth, his breath will start to become foul and I don't know about you, but that is a real turn off for me. There's no excuse for not taking care of yourself and your teeth...it's just laziness!
Reply:I believe you just have to be straight up with him. Say I love you and have something to discuss with you. Let him know you noticed he has not brushed and his teeth are so beautiful you are concerned. Ask him when he was to the dentist last, and make and appointment, you can even go together and get your teeth cleaned. His unbrushed plaque does carry a health risk for you. His decay can become yours. Good Luck!

P.S. if he is terrified of the dentist, work out a wager with him to entice him to go. I am sure you can use your imagination!
Reply:I would just tell him that you are concerned about his habits. When he asks which habit you are referring to then tell him he needs to brush his teeth more as you don't want to see him suffer with the side effects of poor oral hygiene
Reply:If you punch him hard enough, they should come out with one hit
Reply:When he's sleeping Knock his damn teeth out with a hammer

It will save from going to the dentist.
Reply:Ask him how often he brushes his teeth. Be straight and in probability he will be straight with you too.
Reply:Poor oral health can lead to problems

If you don’t take care of your teeth and gums, your poor oral hygiene can actually lead to other health problems, including:

Oral and facial pain. According to the Office of the Surgeon General, this pain may be largely due to infections of the gums that support the teeth and can lead to tooth loss. Gingivitis, an early stage of gum disease, and advanced gum disease affect more than 75 percent of the U.S. population.

Problems with the heart and other major organs. Mouth infections can affect major organs. For example, the heart and heart valves can become inflamed by bacterial endocarditis, a condition that affects people with heart disease or anyone with damaged heart tissue.

Oral cancer. Poor oral care can contribute to oral cancer, which now takes more lives annually than cervical or skin cancer.

Digestion problems. Digestion begins with physical and chemical processes in the mouth, and problems here can lead to intestinal failure, irritable bowel syndrome and other digestion disorders.

tell him he could be doing more damage than just some bad breath
Reply:just be honest. let her know you really care about him, but you're worried that you haven't seen him brush his teeth. tell him that you don't want his teeth to rot or have cavitities or such things. encourage him to go to the dentist to better explain how important hygiene is.
Reply:NEXT TIME HE WANTS TO KISS YOU BACK OFF

THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS IS TO BRING HIM TO THE POINT WHERE HE IS CONSCIOUS AND AWARE OF THE SITUATION, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO EMBARRASS HIM INTO AWARENESS
Reply:Tell him gum disease is communicable (which it is) and you won't kiss him unless he startst taking better care of his teeth. Oh. You wanted a NICE way to tell him? Let this be the first of many fights you will have. If you can't survive this one, just give up and move on.
Reply:Tell him that you care about him and that you love him and what a beautiful smile he has and you don't want him to loose that. Tell him that by not brushing his teeth it could lead to gingivitis and periodontal disease.

Should i still smile if i have bad teeth?

people always say smile to look friendlier and more approachable, and a normal looking person with a smiling face will look more attractive than a sour-faced beauty..

but what if you have bad teeth? I have quite bad teeth i think. they're not exactly jutting out all over the place, but i have a slight underbite and my teeth are a little off-center.

should i not ever smile with teeth? personally i think it makes me look fugly.

Should i still smile if i have bad teeth?
you should smile it does make people appear friendlier and more attractive my teeth aren't perfect my front teeth have a slight overlap going not real noticeable but they do and my bottom teeth are crooked but I still smile you should be happy with yourself how you are and if you think it's that much of a problem maybe you should see a dentist

Usually,I smile with my mouth close but occasionally, I smile with my mouth open. Nobod notices any difference and for those who do, they said I look unnatural smiling with my mouth closed.

I guess you'll look prettier if you smile with your mouth open
Reply:Well yeah I have bad teeth. I'm like gaptoothed. I smile with my mouth closed. . .but smiling with your teeth wont be too bad.

Americans! Brits have bad teeth?

Where do you get that from, my guess is that you get fustrated with brits calling you fat and bringing up the obesity thing, well that is true, like 60% of you are fat, and you make up some bs thing like bad teeth, for a nation? Notice how it's only pathetic americans who say things like that, well you can stay in your fatland where the poor have no freedom and you have a corrupt goverment, but you really are fat as a nation, hmm some what i dont think anybody else in the world agrees with your childish teeth thing, i'm not brit by the way. Britain is a hundred million times better than america anyway, americans just prefer america because a pizza can get to your house faster than an ambulance, LMAO.

I'm glad you have studied Austin Powers closely.

Reply:Hey I'm british %26amp; my teeth are perfect.... So there :p
Reply:The status quo of English dentistry was accepting to crookedness, yellowness, and other attributes which are considered dirty or imperfect in American culture.

Example: Austin Powers

Things have changed since the '60s, and this is less pronounced, as England and most of the world has signed on to the American viewpoint.

Reply:I don't see where the bad teeth thing comes from either, but I've only ever seen it portrayed in the simpsons or family guy so I don't take it seriously!

Britain is far from perfect so don't kid yourself! As a brit I can see the flaws in our society.

Reply:I'm a Brit and I see lots of pretty minging teeth on a daily basis. I also see lots of fatties... as for Americans, well I don't see many at all, but the ones I have met have all had glittering straight smiles.

British dentistry may be better on the whole, but its also damned expensive and a lot of people just don't bother.

Still, yes Britain is better than the US.. for now at least.
Reply:i don,t thanks
Reply:Many British actors don't correct any cosmetic dental defects the way American actors do. However, they'll probably be copying our insane goals of perfection in the media.

Reply:Kent you would be surprised what people believe, the teeth thing is still believed. Mind you as most Americans never leave America it is not really that surprising. I have known some Americans who have lived in Britain for a period of time and they told me sometimes when they see some of the things that Americans do they are actually embarrassed. Especially by George W. Bush.

Don't get me wrong i like America however I think the majority of Americans don't realise how hated their country is in some quarters.

Read look im so whites answer for a prime example.
Reply:stereotype all you want. You not showing how good Britain is by making yourself look ignorant. You must think all Americans are 500 pounders who are snobs and hate everyboby else and have an easy life with servants and crap. Stop mudslinging and sterotyping. Oh yeah if you are not a Brit, how do you know Britain is a hundred million times better? You don't so stop being jeleous.
Reply:My friend..you're wrong.Let me tell ya why. A pizza can get in my house in 20 minutes. An ambulance ( in the whole country) takes only 9 minutes..Besides, we prefer AMERICA, 'CAUSE WE ARE####################### ONE.

Reply:I am neither American or British but I am living in the UK for the time being. A long time ago the British were in fact known for having bad teeth. I have also heard this being referred to several times on the BBC by the British.

Fact is that it is not so much that way these days.

I think you Americans and Brits should try and get along. Your leaders sure do.
Reply:I can tell you why dentistry is a booming profession in England.

They do not add flouride to their tap water like we do in America.

That is the number #1 why they are notorious for f u c k e d up crooked teeth.
Reply:Yeah I'm British thanks for that.
Reply:Hello, are you addressing the entire United States with your statement? Personally, I've never even THOUGHT about whether 'Brits' or any other country has bad teeth or not - I've got my own life to live!

Lighten up and have a Merry Christmas!
Reply:HG Y Does have a point there, I've been to both countries, but there is definitely a bit of a fat thing going on in America. Come on, just admit, you're not kidding anyone. America isn't called the "Fat Nation" for no reason.

Oh and I'm English and I have great teeth. Never had dental work or anything! Which is a better track record than most Americans!
Reply:Your "question" is rude and unneccesary. You've been reported.

I have very bad teeth and need them all removed, but I do not have insurance or the ability to pay. West tenn.

I have very bad teeth and need them all removed but do not have insurance or the ability to pay too much. I am very self consious and do not smile with my mouth open. Also I feel that this is affecting my health because they are so bad. I would appreciate any feedback on this.

I have very bad teeth and need them all removed, but I do not have insurance or the ability to pay. West tenn.
Then you are in quite a bind!!!

As with any other professional service it requires time and money to have the things we all want in life. It sounds like you really need and want the treatment so get to a dentist and find out what all is involved.

By the way, I am a dentist and there have been many instances in my life where I didn't have the $$$$$ to get things done I needed to have done. I just kept working hard at it until I did.

Best of luck!!!!
Reply:You may be able to get help at a local dental school.
Reply:Contact social services in your area and see if your qualify for a dental health program. Most dental clinics will make payment arrangements with your or set up financing to have your teeth removed and new dentures fitted. Make some calls...there is help available but you have to really search for it and force the issue. Decaying teeth can affect your general health...so get help asap. I wish you the best
Reply:While it may be a little nerve wracking, you might check on some kind of dental spa in Mexico. I had a cavity filled in Tijuana about 15 years ago for $40 and have never had a problem. However, for extensive work, a trip to Mexico might be worth it....but make sure to do lots of internet research before commiting to it!
Reply:Work out a payment plan with a dentist or call social services in your area. They will give you info about clinics. You could also contact a dental school and see if they can help you.
Reply:The first answer is a good one--many dental schools offer low cost or even FREE dental care, as it provides students the hands-on training %26amp; experience they need. Check your local colleges and med schools, and see if any of them offer this as a service to lower-income people.

Good luck--and bad teeth DEFINITELY can affect your overall health!

Why do the British stereotypically have bad teeth?

Are teeth not important to them? I know that most people there have money for proper dental care. I've seen Brits with bad teeth time and time again. But like i said, STEREOTYPICALLY. I know not all of them have bad teeth!

Why do the British stereotypically have bad teeth?
the dentists in uk generally have a choice as to whether they work all privately, all NHS (national health service) or a combination of the two. the only time dental treatment is provided "free" in the UK is for people on benefits, children or pregnant or nursing mothers. Even if the patient opts to have the treatment on the NHS there are still scales of charges dependant on the treatment provided. Private dentists would obviously charge a good amount for their work and this combined with an acute shortage of NHS dentists is one reason why many people in the UK do not have the standard of oral care that they themselves may wish for. This is generally as a direct consequence of the governments new contracts issued to dentists over the past few months that has caused many of them to opt for a mainly private practice. So, yes, we in the UK may not have the best teeth around and again I say, blame Tony Blair and his idiotic ways pf administering a Health service that was professed to be "free from the cradle to the grave" by his Labour predecessors that originated the health service back in the 1940`s.

Incidentally we pay a tax known as National Insurance that is supposed to cover health care expenditure,so it is not really free anyway.
Reply:to poor to go to the dentist.
Reply:I wonder if they know their teeth are bad.
Reply:Yeah, you are right. It is STEREOTYPICALLY. I wonder why people do that.....stereotype people.
Reply:The British public water supply is not widely flouridated. In fact, most of Europe does not have flouride in the water supply. Flouride is believed by many (especially in the US) to help prevent tooth decay. Making it worse, the British tend to have a diet high in animal products and dairy and low in green vegetables, which also can lead to tooth decay. It's a bad combination!

Braces: NHS.. Free for bad teeth, pricey for good teeth?

like.. my teeth are naturally straight but i have an over bite and have to get braces,... but i have to pay..

but my friend has pretty bad teeth and its free?!

why?

Braces: NHS.. Free for bad teeth, pricey for good teeth?
basically the nhs does not have enough funds to give everyone free braces. so, people with bad teeth get free braces for a MEDICAL reason, whereas people with maybe one wonky tooth, or an overbite in your case will have to pay as it is for a COSMETIC reason.
Reply:it should be free if u have been refered or recomended by ur dentist or orthodontist
Reply:The NHS probably only give them, for free, to people who are in dire need.. so if they're not exactly necessary they'll avoid providing a costly treatment.. :)
Reply:as funds cannot strech far they have to give the worst cases the funding but would u rather have an overbite and have 2 pay for braces or have incredible crooked teeth till u manage 2 get them 4 free

Ive just started dating a guy who has bad teeth...?

Ive been on a few dates with a guy who seems really nice and I think I can see myself liking him more and more as time goes on... its just that he has really bad teeth, they are discoloured and slightly disfigured. I know he is insecure about them as he has made a few little comments, (one being that as soon as he wins the lotto he will feel good about smiling again). We are in Australia and dental treatment is very expensive here. This guy seems to have a great personality and in many ways Im attracted to his other physical features, like he has great eyes which distract me from his teeth. But, my concern is... we havent kissed yet and Im scared that when he goes to kiss me, all I will see is those teeth coming towards my mouth! I know this seems so shallow, but his teeth really are bad! Im just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and does the love (or intense like) you have for the person, out weigh the fact that they are going to kiss you with bad teeth???

Ive just started dating a guy who has bad teeth...?
My man has really bad teeth and always had since we started dating 6yrs ago,But I slowly got over it b/c I love him. He is a great person and treats me great. I think if you really like this man you need to look past this, or you could miss out on something great. I'm sure there are things about your body that your not happy with..lol Just give it a chance
Reply:If you love somebody...then I think you can see past the physical appearance...I think you will be at peace with the way they look because you love them
Reply:If you care for this person you can try and find a Dentist that will take a payment plan. I Dated a man a few years ago and he had dental problems and i help pay for some of it. I didn't mind doing it because he was allso helping to pay. It would be a kind thing to do for a person.
Reply:IF he's not taking minimal care of his teeth now, it shows a lack of self-respect. Dentistry is expensive everywhere- so that's no excuse for neglecting your appearance. If he IS attempting to better his situation, then fine...but if not- the issue's only going to get worse. As time passes, the bad teeth will be a secondary issue- the real issue will become that he's unwilling to DO anything about them or take care of what he does have...

Help!!! Dog with really bad teeth!?

My 9 year old mongral has the worst teeth I have ever seen! a lot of them have fell out. They are in such a bad state. He is not in any pain, but his teeth are manky and his breath is fowl!

Would it be best to just leave them as they are or isd there any treatment I can use. Or would it be best to get them taken out?

Help!!! Dog with really bad teeth!?
Although not obviously painful, dental disease can be very harmful for your pet. Tartar build up on the teeth will lead to gingivitis. Bugs can then go into the blood stream and travel through your dog's body.

Those bacterias will usually stop in the kidneys, liver or even heart and trigger various problems which may only show years later.

Therefore dental hygiene is paramount to keeping your pet well and confortable for as long as possible. I recommend you consult your veterinarian. Should the dog need to have some teeth out (which sounds possible), this will have to be done under general anaesthetic.

You can request a "dental check" with a veterinary nurse. This may even be free of charge.
Reply:I would take him to the vets to have an examination
Reply:check with a vet or if you have a PDSA in your district. You dont know if they are doing any internal damage. Good luck
Reply:take your dog to the vet, they need to be removed if they are really bad, otherwise rotten teeth can cause all sorts of health problems for your dog (internally) and can lead to death.
Reply:A vet can clean them up nicely, but the dog will need to be put under for this. As far as what can YOU do, there's biscuits and chews made to help clean teeth. There's doggy toothbrushes and toothpase. I've also seen doggy breath mints.
Reply:take your dog to the vet as soon as you are able. bad teeth can lead to bacterial endocarditis and he can die. call the animal shelter and ask them who does their vet work, and then call that vet. or some vets will run a special on cleaning teeth from time to time. or call every vet in the book and ask how much to clean teeth.
Reply:You could take him in to the vet and have them do a teeth cleaning on what teeth he has left.
Reply:Take him to the vet for a checkup and teeth cleaning. Bad teeth can cause many health problems, bacteria from bad teeth can get into the bloodstream and cause all kinds of trouble, plus your dog may be in pain and not show it. Animals are good at hiding pain, it's a survival instinct.
Reply:Talk to your vet.. Bad breath suggests that there is something horrible going on in there.. Poison from the teeth affects the heart and other organs in the body and your dog is slowly dying.
Reply:It would be best to have a vet look at them. Just because he doesn't show he is pain doesn't mean he isn't. A tooth rotting to the point of falling out is VERY painful and you have just let him go through this.

Please get him checked by the vet.
Reply:You probably could have prevented your dog getting the bad teeth. You could have given him dentabone which helps with plarc and gingervitus and also helps to strengthen their teeth and gums. But its a bit too late now, you will have to take the dog to the vet to have the teeth extracted. But your vet will advise you what to do.

I hope the vet will be able to save your dogs teeth, best of luck.
Reply:a vet are good
Reply:Probably best to go to your vet and have them cleaned and bad ones taken out, my dog Clint at the time he was 12 yrs old and had really bad teeth and breath that smelt like dead fish, we took him to the vets and had him put under anasthectic (sp) when he came back he was minus a few teeth, but he breath was better and cleaner teeth, just check with your vet about the weight to anathectic ratio just to put your mind at ease(i was phoning every ten mins just to make sure he was ok) as it was the first time he had been put under and due to his old age :D
Reply:since its 9 years old im not suprise , but if u really want the best for ya dog u can take it 2 the vet n get its teeth n gums all fixed up. or if u wanna do it the cheep way u can take some cotton wool as well as listerine n some water mix it up than dab ur dogs mouth wif it , works all the time . :D
Reply:Take him to the vet and have them examine his teeth.

Leaving teeth rotten in his mouth can cause periodontal disease and also kidney problems and also infections of the gums.

They may remove teeth or they may decide to do a cleaning. That is up to the vet.
Reply:If your teeth were rotten to the point of falling out, do you think you would not be in pain? He IS in pain, severe pain, and yes, you should get them treated. Your vet needs to put him under anesthesia, clean the teeth, assess each tooth's health, and remove the abscessed teeth.

And in future, please, pay more attention to your pets' oral health. Oral infection WILL kill an animal, the infection will spread to bone and through the blood to the heart and kidneys. It was the number 1 cause of death in PEOPLE before the advent of oral hygene and antibiotics.
Reply:i no wot you mean my do is the same his breath is fowl. and taking him to the vets dosnt help cos they just tell you wot yu alray no like try t brush his teeth but i is impossibe or try chews but they dont work!!!
Reply:i don't know if its passed this stage but try giving him denta stix. my dogs had 1 almost every day since ive had her and her teeth are fine. to be fair, definately take him to the vets to get checked out, dont leave them as he may be in pain with them soon and it will cost you more money in the end.maybe even try brushing his teeth with special dos toothpaste but be gentle. good luck
Reply:First let me say, that if his teeth are as bad as you say they are and he has already lost some, he's in alot of pain, Guaranteed, the same way we would be, if our teeth were like that. If it's not taken care of immediately, he can have many health problems. It can affect his heart, the infection and bacteria in his mouth, can get into their blood stream, which causes Sepsis and that's just to name a couple of serious problems that can happen. Both of these problems can be deadly ,if you wait too long.He really needs to be seen by a veterinarian immediately, so he/she can determine whether they can be cleaned or whether they should be removed. PLEASE for the sake of your dog, this is very serious and you need to get her to a vet really soon! PLEASE, don't let her go through this pain, it's not fair.
Reply:take him to the vet and pay to have his teeth cleaned and a full dental. They will put him under for this. They will remove any teeth that are rotten. Im interested to know whether this dog is fed just meat as biscuits can help in keeping the dogs teeth clean. Try dental chews etc as they will help after the dog has had a trip to the vets. If you can't afford it, try and get in touch with the rspca..they may be able to help
Reply:if his teeth are as bad as you say, how have you let this happen, he will be in pain, its just dogs dont show pain the way we do, you must take him to the vets and I am afraid its going to cost you a lot of money, at 9 years old there is always a risk giving anesthetic and if his breath is as bad as you say he may well have gingivitis too, as previously answered bad teeth can kill, apart from giving him upset tums and playing hell with his immune system, please take him to the vet and get him treated or you may not have him much longer.
Reply:it need's to go to the vet's to have some pulled. like us they get bad and we have to have them out. good luck.
Reply:By the way you have worded this question it seems you know the answer to your question already.

I'd certainly take him to the vet. S/He will be able to clean the teeth, remove any that are too far gone and advise on a regime.

After the vet visit:

There are canine toothbrushes/pastes on the market. I bought them for my dog. I perdonally found the brush difficult to use, and had far more success with one of my used toothbrushes. Use canine toothpaste as opposed to human toothpaste.

Alternatively there are various chews that help clean the teeth. These are not as effective as brushing, but a lot less hassle.

Can bad teeth make you sick?

Can having bad teeth make you feel wore down and not like yourself?

Can bad teeth make you sick?
Yes. Your teeth are in your mouth close to your sinuses and brain as well as the arteries to the heart. Believe it or not, good teeth hygiene is good for the heart! Take care of those teeth.
Reply:bad teeth are bad for your body, I think it's really bad
Reply:yes.
Reply:well it's all to do with hygiene if you have good hygiene your healthy, but poor hyginene makes you get all sorts of infections. the lesson is look after your teeth you only get one set of 'em.
Reply:Definetly. Who knows how many infections you have in your unclean mouth? Ask any dentist.
Reply:Bad teeth? No. Can they lead to infection of the gums? Yes. Will that make you sick? Yes. They can also bring down your self-esteem if you're insecure with it, so that could make you feel worn down.
Reply:Yes my mom had to have all her teeth out so she would stop having headaches
Reply:absolutely, it can also make you prone to headaches, there's a connection with dental hygiene and how you feel. I hate the dentist, went yesterday for a cleaning, otherwise I get really bad headaches. If you don't take care of your teeth you can get a bad infection that could spread to your body.
Reply:the ancient Egyptians died from abscessed teeth. The infection can enter your blood stream and make you VERY sick if not treated.

My sister has really bad teeth, help - Serious answers please.?

My sister has really bad teeth, i mean really bad, i think it has now got to the stage her gums are getting infected, but she just wont go to the dentist..... Even my little boy wont give her kisses etc. cause he says she has bad teeth, he actually said this to her but it made no difference.

My question is really, if she doesnt get them sorted can she get really ill from the infections??

My sister has really bad teeth, help - Serious answers please.?
I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and her teeth and gums are not the only thing that will be affected her stomach will be to and from then on she will have problems in her blood stream. She will also suffer from abscesses, ear aches and headaches.

Reply:simply yes
Reply:Yes. My friend wouldn't see a dentist and ended up really ill in hospital after an ulcer burst and poisoned her!!
Reply:she seriously needs to go to a dentist and get this sorted out as it will cause her serious problems if she leaves it. Does she use mouthwash after she brushes her teeth? this can help with gum infections but i'm guessing hers has probably been left too long and she may need some kind of medication.
Reply:There is only one answer, she must go to the dentist. My daughter has to attend a trauma clinic before she goes, so there is help if she wants it
Reply:yes she can get septicemia or blood poisoning!!! At the very least she is risking losing them all through painful abscesses......and can die from the toxins reaching her brain and heart.
Reply:Yes, she can if her body resistance is lowered. Besides the oral cavity is quite close to the sinuses which can lead up to the brain. Get her to the dentist asap!
Reply:she needs to go to the denist badly she will have to have false one in if not careful
Reply:she will end up with no teeth at all if her gums are really bad. She will end up with abcesses and will end up in hospital. She wont even be able to have false teeth if her gums are really bad. You really need to urge her to get treatment as soon as possible. They may be able to treat her under anaesthetic
Reply:yes it can make you ill its important that if she has some fear of the dentist that she gets help and support from you .You would be amazed what a confidence boost it is to have nice teeth i would tell her she is putting her health at risk if they become infected i think she is probly very embarresed shes probly left it so long .try to get her some help get her a dentists appointment and go with her and be supportive
Reply:Yes she can get ill, she can get gum, bone infection, not nice and she will probably lose all of her teeth, see if she can go to the doctors first , he can give her something so that she will not be so worried about going to the dentists if that's her problem.
Reply:Bad teeth and gums can actually result in heart disease. I don't have all the specifics, but I'm sure a professional can verify this. Perhaps, if finances are the issue, the health dept. can direct her to a dental clinic. If she is fearful of dentist, there are some who will administer laughing gas to completely relax a patient.
Reply:No question about it. Dentist as soon as possible.
Reply:i'm no detist but your sister will develop gum diese. this can be very painful and eating will become very hard. i just looked on google adn there are cases where it can affect the throat.

for the sack of a couple of minutes a day brushing your teeth she could have alot of problems.
Reply:she can get really ill!

I'm not going to tell you any scary stories, but infection can always get into a blood stream, and it can't be good ... or bones can get infected, through routs, and it can go up to sinuses, and so on and so on ... many people are very scared of dentists, so maybe if you made her an appointment with one that puts patients to sleep (full anaesthetic) she might decide to go .. and make sure you go with her ... she will need that one extra push to sit in that chair .. I know I did (and my problems with teeth weren't even nearly as bad)
Reply:Yes - her gum will be infected (peridontitis) and her teeth will become abscessed. If bad enough, infection can spread to the ear canals, bone and bloodstream (sepsis).

If she doesn't want to go to the dentist, she should start brushing her gums since that is where most bacteria flourish around the teeth, then she could start using a mouthwash with an alcohol base to help kill off some of the bacteria, such as Listerine. If she already has a bad tooth (or teeth) that are impacted or abscessed, then she is going to have to eventually see a dentist to have them removed or worked on.
Reply:Yes.

When you have an infection somewhere in your body, your body is continually fighting it which means if something comes around like flu, your body probably won't be able to fight it off because it's already weakened with fighting the infection.

It has also been shown the mouth infections, if left untreated, damage the heart. The bacteria from the mouth enter the bloodstream and have an affinity for the heart muscle.

Infections of the mouth have been theorized to cause diabetes as well.

There are dentist who specialize in people like your sister. If her teeth are that far gone, she probably will need them all removed and possibly bone in her jaw as well.

In any case, she definitely needs to see someone. If you want to help her, find a dentist who handles patients with dental fears. Then do what you must to get her in to them.
Reply:clean em wit ha tooth brush
Reply:she will get gum diesies and her teeth can fall out i have gum problems but that is threw ma family have it and so have i and i need to get checked up alot u cant make her go to the dentist but she really needs to go or she will have false teeth soon good luck
Reply:Yeah, she could get abscesses in her gums or teeth and the infection will spread. She really needs to see someone if they are really bad
Reply:Two steps: firstly find out why she has allowed her teeth to get so bad. She's probably scared of dentists - a very common phobia. Get her to log into the dental phobia site at www.dentalfearcentral.com. This will help her enormously in knowing that there are thousands of people just like her who share their stories and get strength from that. Also, there are recommended dentists who specialise in dealing with phobics and who will sedate and treat gently.
Reply:You are so right about that. The only cure is a trip to the dentist otherwise it will get worst and the infection could invade her body. She would need a course of antibiotics. Her doctor might prescribe them. I hope she goes and gets it sorted.

I have really bad teeth and....?

I have really bad teeth, braces won't help, and I'm only 18 so I don't want dentures. I can't even smile, talk, or laugh because I'm so embarassed by my teeth. There is this guy I like and I don't want to even meet him because of my teeth. Also, I have never been to a dentist in my life so I'm scared to death to go. What should I do?

I have really bad teeth and....?
Braces will help your teeth. You say you've never been to a dentist before, so how can you know that they won't?

I realise that getting braces can be quite a daunting affair, but I can promise you that the time spent with them on is well worth it.

Finally, there's nothing to fear from the dentist. Dentists are just people, like everyone else. You can talk to them like other people if you have any doubts or worries and they will treat you with respect and dignity.

I hope this helped.
Reply:go to the dentist!!!!!!! their nt scarry their relle nice.
Reply:Go to the dentist, get em ripped out and get dentures, thats my advice
Reply:If you have never been to a dentist, how do you know that braces won't help? You definitely need to get to a dentist and have an oral exam and cleaning. Then ask to be referred to a cosmetic dentist. You'd be amazed at the things that can be done.
Reply:Don't be scared. My Uncle is a Dentist. They know there is a common fear of going, and they will go out of their way to make sure your first visit is a pleasant one. If anything else, you'll be no worse off going to the Dentist then you are now, and at least then you'll know what other options are out there :)
Reply:what kind of bad is really bad if it isn't about braces

Missing front teeth?

You are 18 %26amp; never been to a dentist?

SHAME ON YOUR PARENTS!!!
Reply:when I was little I broke my teeth and they were horrible. The dentist is my best friend now. If your teeth are that bad you should go to a dentist and ask about veneers. look them up, their porcelain teeth and they make your teeth look flawless. their pricey but see if you can get it covered with insurance. If your teeth are that bad just swallow your pride and go.
Reply:actually braces will help...alot
Reply:Get braces, If you haven;t been to the dentist then you don't know if you can get braces.

It will make you feel a lot better to get your teeth fixed. It is only scary if you imagine it will be. Just be calm, the dentist is not a bad place.
Reply:If you really have that bad of teeth...not to be rude or anything but i hope you got alot of money cos its gonna be a hell of alot to fix them...like you said you dont want dentures so im guessing you have alot of missing teeth? thats the hardest thing to fix...but you should go or you will never have a normal life...good luck
Reply:You have to go to the Dentist, because this is the only choice you have got and he is the only person who helps you to get rid from your problem........................... but counsel with a good Dentist!!!!!!!!
Reply:Find a dentist that specializes in invisalign and you can straighten your teeth without people noticing that much. It does cost money, though, but probably not as much as you'd think and it isn't as painful and tedious as braces.

Reply:Getting Pearly Whites is a little hard to get especially if that person have grayish-blue teeth, who drinks caffeine and who smokes.. Guess who?

You know in the old days they use COAL as for whitening their teeth and it does work but i wouldn't do it if i were you but if you want.. then be my guest.. i also heard some people use BAKING SODA and mix them with toothpaste, just sprinkle baking soda on your toothpaste before brushing your teeth.

Also some people use HYDROGEN PEROXIDE(never to swallow any) and use them as for mouthwash make sure to add some water or you'll increase of having a sensitive teeth and I'm sure you don't want that and you can also pour some hydrogen peroxide into a glass and mix it with some water and you can put your toothbrush in it to keep the germs away from the brush, and remember to put your brush 6 feet away from the toilet because a lot of germs floating around.

After brushing your teeth don't forget to FLOSS, you can floss before or after brushing your teeth and flossing is good and never forget to floss, twice a day is enough. And keep away from citric acid eg. oranges, lemon or juices for a while but if you do want to drink any juices just make sure use straw and put it to the end of your tongue to keep the liquid from touching your teeth especially your molars or the back of your teeth.. Eat apples instead, eating spinach and drinking water is also a good way to clean your teeth,

Take a good multiple vitamin such as the time-released brands found at GNC to keep teeth well nurtured from within.

Things Needed And Things To Do:

1.COAL(i don't think you need it.. but believe me it works)

2.Baking Soda,

3.Hydrogen peroxide mix w/ Water,

4.Flossing,

5.New %26amp; Clean tooth brush(make sure change every 3 months of use)

6.Good Toothpaste like "Colgate"

7.Milk is for strong teeth, too you know..

well The real ANSWER is actually to Go to the dentist... and dont worry about it..go or you'll be feeling embarrassed for your whole life.
Reply:Aim a Dentist and my advice for you is to go and have your oral cavity and teeth checked by the Dentist. I know it will cost you some dollar but its your health that comes first. If you like I can give you advice personally. Just email me and I will do the best I can to answer your query.

How bad is it for your overall health to have bad teeth?

I know it's not good...but there are people I know that I am genuinely concerned about and I've heard that it can be bad for your health when you do not take care of your teeth. I know someone who doesn't ever get their teeth cleaned let alone even go to a dentist their whole life. The teeth are pretty gross and they have bad breath. I love them dearly, but do I say anything?

How bad is it for your overall health to have bad teeth?
Bad Teeth Equal Bad Heart. People with more bacteria in their mouths also have more evidence of heart disease, people with more bacteria that cause periodontal disease also had thicker carotid arteries -- a strong indicator of clogged blood vessels.

This is the most direct evidence yet that gum disease may lead to stroke or cardiovascular disease and because gum infections are preventable and treatable, taking care of your oral health could very well have a significant impact on your cardiovascular health.

the bacteria that cause the gum disease may spread into the bloodstream and stimulate the immune system, causing inflammation that results in the clogging of arteries. Hardening of the arteries involves the inflammation process, and other studies have strongly linked heart disease with inflammation.
Reply:If it gets bad enough, and you lose teeth, you may have trouble eating certain foods. Emotionally, you will have to deal with people avoiding you, and a general loss of respect for you with your nasty teeth and rancid breath.

And your sexual health is sure to suffer as you won't be getting any practice.
Reply:The bad breath will be the bad teeth, yes bad teeth out poisons into the system and can cause brain damage and all sorts of illnesses. May be these people have not got the money to go to the dentist, so buy them some mouth gargle and pick the right time, in private to tell them, may be you could help find a cheap dentist
Reply:i've read it can lead to pancreatic cancer
Reply:if you have bad teeth, it can effect you in many ways. for example, it can effect your heart.

I want to join army but i have bad teeth will they help me fix them?

im 23 in shape fit and healthy but bad teeth from when i was younger neglecting my teeth :(. anyways i want to serve my country and be apart of the u.s. army or marines. i always wanted to do this but always had somthing to slow my process down (2kids-wife) now that its the right time for me my teeth are now in my way. ive had all wisdom teeth pulled along with the molors next to them from the wisdom teeth decaying them. my top teeth are getting worse and bottom are ok but still need some work. i dont get any pain from my teeth and can eat and talk perfectly fine. i was told when i had the wisdom teeth pulled that i should get dentures. my question is, will the military pay for my teeth to get fixed or just dq me? i want serious answers not bs like the last post i put up, so please anyone that can help give me some feedback.

I want to join army but i have bad teeth will they help me fix them?
8 yrs ago my hubby enlisted, he had bad teeth, etc... and they just signed him up, then pulled the tooth that was bad, did a few fillings and sent him to his permanent party! this was after basic. I think that you will be fine, but please don't enlist for less that 20K for 3-4 yrs. make sure your gi bill is 30K, and you get station of choice. these are musts!!! I am glad to see that some young people want to join, not just for the money
Reply:I dont know where you are but here the army pays for dental and other health work for you - but - if it can be considered that it is a health issue - and they do believe now that bad teeth lead to other health problems - they may not accept you in the first place. only way to be sure is to ask them and have a medical.
Reply:may qualify for enlistment--check with a recruiter.

My teeth are really bad (I know it's gross) I want to do something about it and have heard about implants?

I have really bad teeth and yes, I know it's disgusting (which is why I want to do something about it).

I have heard about in America they can remove all of your teeth and put in implants (not false teeth) that are permanantly in your mouth.

Can you get this done in the UK and does anyone know how much it costs? I don't mind travelling to anywhere in the UK to get it done!

Thanks

My teeth are really bad (I know it's gross) I want to do something about it and have heard about implants?
First thing frst. You better have a consultation wiht a dentist. Each dental implant done at the specialist cost around £2000. But there are other implant solutions availbe at cheaper price hence the need to see a Implantologiest or specilaist dentist to assess your case. A total implant reconstruction cost £15 000 at our practice. You can have them done abroad for much less.Check www.scanmedix.com or contact info@scanmedix.com

goodluck!
Reply:Go to a DENTIST and ask - THOUSANDS of POUNDS springs to mind
Reply:a place to start:

http://www.privatehealth.co.uk/private-d...

keep in mind thats very expensive, you talking about 300 pounds per tooth, and that's in Turkey
Reply:ABOUT A THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED,BUT YOU WILL GET RID OF YOUR TUMMY TROUBLES.GO TO THE DENTIST AND SEE, THEY WILL CHARGE A FEE FOR AN ESTIMATE,BUT AT LEAST YOU WILL KNOW.GOOD LUCK.
Reply:Yes, you can get them done in the UK. I watch "ten years younger" and I know they do that over here. You will have to go and see your dentist and then they can refer you to a specialist (cosmetic dentist). Or you could call the show and perhaps get it done for free????
Reply:Maybe just having your teeth crowned/capped would give you the results you require but it depends on the condition of your gums. I've had two done and am very pleased with the results, however it was £350 per tooth.

Go and find a good private dentist or a good NHS dentist who does private work. They will explain the options and the costs.
Reply:You should go to the dentest every 6 months so they can check up on your teeth. Also brush them 2-3 times a day with a good toothpaste like colgate or aquafresh. Get a mouthwash that can kill all of the rest of the plaque after your brush. If you want you can get special teeth polish called pearl drops. It makes your teeth shine. YOUR TEETH WILL LOOK GREAT!!!!
Reply:You need to see dentist for a proper consultation and they will advise. But if implants are anything along the lines of cosmetic dentistry, then you would be looking at spending AT LEAST a couple of hundred pounds per tooth plus the prep work before hand so all in all a good few thousand
Reply:Yeah have had a couple done myself after I had to have a couple of teeth extracted

You need to have existing teeth pulled ie removed, then wait 6 months for your gums to heal over

They basically screw a new tooth into your mouth. Sounds gross but is much more long term and a better look than capping.

Loads of downsides tho - 6 months without teeth (have them done in stages), they cost around £1200 each tooth, the NHS wont contribute and not many dentists do them, its very specialised
Reply:Consult a dentist who will let you know of available treaments and cost.
Reply:FYI, if you could not take care of your real teeth, chances are that your implants will fail. They still require as much, if not more attention than your real teeth do. If you are going to spend that much money, I would hope you take care of them. PLUS- here in America, its about $2000 per implant...this is not including the crown that your general dentist will fabricate which is about $7-800 dollars. You have 28 teeth in your mouth, so this will be REALLY expensive. This is not including the extractions of existing teeth, reshaping of the ridge (aveloplasty), and possible bone grafts which are more common than not with multiple extractions. Another alternative is to remove the existing teeth and place 4 implants where your 'I' teeth are ( your cainine, vampire teeth). You can have full upper and lower dentures that snap into these implants and keep them in place. I hope this helps you.
