Bad teeth and overall health?

My best friend has two molars that have actually begun to decay and turn black. She hasn%26#039;t gone to see a dentist yet because she claims to have a dental phobia. However, in the past two years or so since she has told me about her teeth getting bad, she has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and an overexcited nervous system where her fingers often jiggle or tremor. She hasn%26#039;t mentioned her tooth problem to her doctor either. Is there a correlation between teeth %26quot;rotting%26quot; and other aspects of a person%26#039;s health, such as heart health and nervous system health? And where can I get more information on the web to convince her that there may be a connection?

Bad teeth and overall health?
The state of your teeth and gums reveals a lot about your health. Bad teeth can cause bad health and bad health causes bad teeth.
Reply:OFCOURSE!
Reply:Yes, they go hand in hand. The best thing to do is visit your dentist, explain your friends situation and see if the dentist can give you phamplets and/or articles/booklets for your friend and read them with her. Explain your concern and tell her you will go with her and hold her hand the entire time if she needs!
Reply:Yes abscess teeth can cause heart problems look in web md it can give you further tell your friend most dentists now have methods for people who dont like going they are all trained to handle this.
Reply:YES! I have a heart murmer and need to be on antibiotics for a couple of days before any dental procedure. But I just went through something that scared the heck out of me. I had a toothache. Knowing I couldn%26#039;t afford to get to the dentist right away as I have no dental insurance, I went to the doctor to get an antibiotic and something for the pain. The very next day the infection apparently had spread through my bloodstream and I was VERY sick. For almost a week I couldn%26#039;t get out of bed and I was pretty much incoherent. But I was so out of it I didn%26#039;t think to go to the doctor. I found out AFTER the fact that my doctor thinks my blood pressure got dangerously low, causing me to be extremely tired. Apparently every time I get any type of infection, my blood pressure drops. (I didn%26#039;t know this but my doc looked over my charts and noticed it.) The point is, the toothache wasn%26#039;t even that bad, but the infection spread to my bloodstream literally overnight. It can happen %26amp; it can become very dangerous. I took penicillin for 10 days with no improvement in the infection (my face was very swollen %26amp; I still felt horrible) and was prescribed another antibiotic (I forgot which one now) for another 14 days. It took until I was about midway through the 2nd one before I saw marked improvement and started to feel better. If the 2nd one didn%26#039;t work, I was going to be hospitalized. My point is that yes, bad teeth can cause SEVERE health problems. And being sick (or pregnant) can wreak havoc on your teeth. Good health and good oral hygeine go hand in hand. Please try to get your friend to go to the dentist and get those teeth fixed or removed before it really starts affecting her. Take it from me. After my ordeal was all said %26amp; done, I did research and found out just how bad off I was. I could have died from an abscess tooth. Now that%26#039;s just scary...

  1. Bad breath is one of the sign of unhealthy teeth! Yep, maybe chewing gum may help reduce bad breath, but cleaning your mouth and teeth is a must to stop spreading of germs and bacteria that may cause damage on your teeth. If you notice signs of unhealthy gums, it is advisable to go to your dentist for some check-ups.
