My sister has really bad teeth, help - Serious answers please.?

My sister has really bad teeth, i mean really bad, i think it has now got to the stage her gums are getting infected, but she just wont go to the dentist..... Even my little boy wont give her kisses etc. cause he says she has bad teeth, he actually said this to her but it made no difference.

My question is really, if she doesnt get them sorted can she get really ill from the infections??

My sister has really bad teeth, help - Serious answers please.?
I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and her teeth and gums are not the only thing that will be affected her stomach will be to and from then on she will have problems in her blood stream. She will also suffer from abscesses, ear aches and headaches.

Reply:simply yes
Reply:Yes. My friend wouldn't see a dentist and ended up really ill in hospital after an ulcer burst and poisoned her!!
Reply:she seriously needs to go to a dentist and get this sorted out as it will cause her serious problems if she leaves it. Does she use mouthwash after she brushes her teeth? this can help with gum infections but i'm guessing hers has probably been left too long and she may need some kind of medication.
Reply:There is only one answer, she must go to the dentist. My daughter has to attend a trauma clinic before she goes, so there is help if she wants it
Reply:yes she can get septicemia or blood poisoning!!! At the very least she is risking losing them all through painful abscesses......and can die from the toxins reaching her brain and heart.
Reply:Yes, she can if her body resistance is lowered. Besides the oral cavity is quite close to the sinuses which can lead up to the brain. Get her to the dentist asap!
Reply:she needs to go to the denist badly she will have to have false one in if not careful
Reply:she will end up with no teeth at all if her gums are really bad. She will end up with abcesses and will end up in hospital. She wont even be able to have false teeth if her gums are really bad. You really need to urge her to get treatment as soon as possible. They may be able to treat her under anaesthetic
Reply:yes it can make you ill its important that if she has some fear of the dentist that she gets help and support from you .You would be amazed what a confidence boost it is to have nice teeth i would tell her she is putting her health at risk if they become infected i think she is probly very embarresed shes probly left it so long .try to get her some help get her a dentists appointment and go with her and be supportive
Reply:Yes she can get ill, she can get gum, bone infection, not nice and she will probably lose all of her teeth, see if she can go to the doctors first , he can give her something so that she will not be so worried about going to the dentists if that's her problem.
Reply:Bad teeth and gums can actually result in heart disease. I don't have all the specifics, but I'm sure a professional can verify this. Perhaps, if finances are the issue, the health dept. can direct her to a dental clinic. If she is fearful of dentist, there are some who will administer laughing gas to completely relax a patient.
Reply:No question about it. Dentist as soon as possible.
Reply:i'm no detist but your sister will develop gum diese. this can be very painful and eating will become very hard. i just looked on google adn there are cases where it can affect the throat.

for the sack of a couple of minutes a day brushing your teeth she could have alot of problems.
Reply:she can get really ill!

I'm not going to tell you any scary stories, but infection can always get into a blood stream, and it can't be good ... or bones can get infected, through routs, and it can go up to sinuses, and so on and so on ... many people are very scared of dentists, so maybe if you made her an appointment with one that puts patients to sleep (full anaesthetic) she might decide to go .. and make sure you go with her ... she will need that one extra push to sit in that chair .. I know I did (and my problems with teeth weren't even nearly as bad)
Reply:Yes - her gum will be infected (peridontitis) and her teeth will become abscessed. If bad enough, infection can spread to the ear canals, bone and bloodstream (sepsis).

If she doesn't want to go to the dentist, she should start brushing her gums since that is where most bacteria flourish around the teeth, then she could start using a mouthwash with an alcohol base to help kill off some of the bacteria, such as Listerine. If she already has a bad tooth (or teeth) that are impacted or abscessed, then she is going to have to eventually see a dentist to have them removed or worked on.
Reply:Yes.

When you have an infection somewhere in your body, your body is continually fighting it which means if something comes around like flu, your body probably won't be able to fight it off because it's already weakened with fighting the infection.

It has also been shown the mouth infections, if left untreated, damage the heart. The bacteria from the mouth enter the bloodstream and have an affinity for the heart muscle.

Infections of the mouth have been theorized to cause diabetes as well.

There are dentist who specialize in people like your sister. If her teeth are that far gone, she probably will need them all removed and possibly bone in her jaw as well.

In any case, she definitely needs to see someone. If you want to help her, find a dentist who handles patients with dental fears. Then do what you must to get her in to them.
Reply:clean em wit ha tooth brush
Reply:she will get gum diesies and her teeth can fall out i have gum problems but that is threw ma family have it and so have i and i need to get checked up alot u cant make her go to the dentist but she really needs to go or she will have false teeth soon good luck
Reply:Yeah, she could get abscesses in her gums or teeth and the infection will spread. She really needs to see someone if they are really bad
Reply:Two steps: firstly find out why she has allowed her teeth to get so bad. She's probably scared of dentists - a very common phobia. Get her to log into the dental phobia site at www.dentalfearcentral.com. This will help her enormously in knowing that there are thousands of people just like her who share their stories and get strength from that. Also, there are recommended dentists who specialise in dealing with phobics and who will sedate and treat gently.
Reply:You are so right about that. The only cure is a trip to the dentist otherwise it will get worst and the infection could invade her body. She would need a course of antibiotics. Her doctor might prescribe them. I hope she goes and gets it sorted.
