Dental care, bad teeth and brits?

A few times now i have heard about the brits and there so called dental care, we all have 1 or 2 teeth left and there falling out.


can i ask where this rumour started and also about Deamonte Driver

I think the reason that many Americans think that British people have bad teeth is that American dental care is done via insurance. In the UK we have to pay for it ourselves unless we are very lucky and have an NHS dentist (very thin on the ground) and even then we have to pay for it unless we're on benefits.





The Hollywood smile that is so popular in America is very expensive here. I had 2 teeth capped and it cost me £3000 which to put it into context is about 3 months rent in London. The whole mouth would be totally out of most people's price range.





Day to day dental care is improving in the UK but there is still a very real fear of the dentist from childhood for most people when dentists were pretty scary places to go.
Reply:We Brits look after our teeth as much as most of the rest of the world, which is with PRIDE. We all would like to have nice teeth but sadly for a lot of people the price of dental treatment is far too high and just can't afford it, but i have good teeth do you?
Reply:It's a well known fact that us brits have crap teeth compared to say the US. But i'd rather have a few crazy stonehenge smiles around than have everyone walking around with the "Donny Osmond" or "Jody Marsh" for gawds sake!
