Can I get Septic ,if i have a very bad teeth infection?

I'm so scared,I have a very bad teeth infection,and a bad breath,bleeding,no appetite,very tired,soakt out.I'm felling I have fever,but I dont,just chilling.

Can I get Septic ,if i have a very bad teeth infection?
Let me give you the official definition of sepsis:

Infection (any, including teeth) AND 2 or more of the following...

1. heart rate %26gt; 90 beats per minute

2. %26gt;20 breaths per minute (spontaneous breathing)

3. white blood cell count %26gt; 12,000 or %26lt; 4,000/dL of blood

4. tempertature %26gt; 38 or %26lt; 36 celcious

Now, this definition sounds easy to get. i mean, when you have an infection in your nose (sinusitis) and you're shivering in bed burning in fever, technicaly you are septic, though nothing bad comes out of it.

I supose you have in mind severe sepsis (sepsis combined with organ dysfunction) or septic shock (sepsis combined with hypotention). These two conditions are life threatening, though they hardly ever occure due to tooth infection- it would be a case report. They both occure after generalisation of infection.

So, long story short- NO you cannot really become septic (severelly) by tooth infection. If you do not treat it though, and it spreads, well, you probably will. When? Well, give it a couple of weeks or so.

What to do??

GO to your dentist. I bet he'll give you antibiotics (probably two kinds) and treat it (seal it) after 5-10 days of treatment with anti's.

Take care.
Reply:You need antibiotics to treat your infected teeth right away
Reply:you can verry quickly
Reply:yes! go an see dentist asap!
Reply:You can get pyorrhea, in infection in the gums, which has poisons that can shut down your organs. If possible get to a medical care facility immediately.
Reply:You can get very sick but I doubt you would get septic. Septic means severe blood infection.

Sounds like you are already sick from it. Why not get it treated?

A course of antibiotics and pain medicine, then have it repaired or pulled will do the trick.
Reply:Go see your doctor dear... SOON

You only have one set of teeth. Protect them.

It could easy make you ill. I can see how it is already affecting you and you sound fevered. Get medical help.
Reply:yes, you can get septic and your teeth are very close to your brain which could cause a number of other disasters. do not put off going to a dentist or doctor at this point, both will write a prescription for antibiotics. then later after you've completed your antibiotic regimen, you can get your tooth fixed safely.
