I have reaaally bad teeth!?

When I was little, my parents didn't really make a big deal about brushing your teeth. But since 3 years ago, I started to get out of that habit and brush 2-3 times a day.

But my teeth are getting worse, and even have HOLES in them! Not cavity holes, just holes! And they're turning yellow and everything, it's NASTY!! I use Crest Whitening Strips (Minty) toothpaste.

What should I do?

I have reaaally bad teeth!?
I hate when people answer the question with the obvious answer, "go to the dentist" of course you know that there are a thing called dentist and they fix your teeth. They tell you to go to the dentist and offer no other advice. Besides going to the dentist, which you really should do at least twice a year, buy a toothpaste with fluoride in it, this should help your teeth get healthier. Buy a electric toothbrush, regular toothbrushes can not match the effectiveness in cleaning that an electric can. 3 ACT mouthwash is also good, it hardens the enamel on your teeth, whitens and gets rid of plaque. Avoid eating sweets, chewing gum with sugar in it and do not chew on ice or anything hard like that.
Reply:Go to the dentist
Reply:go to a dentist
Reply:go to the dintst
Reply:You should really get to a dentist asap, because if you dont you may lose your teeth.
Reply:Go to a dentist it is common sense.
Reply:are you serious? go to the dentest....
Reply:You need to see your dentist and have him check your teeth and show you how to properly care for them. If you are due for your 6 month dental checkup soon you can wait till then but if you just had you checkup recently and won't see the dentist for another 6 months then call and get seen soon.
Reply:You didnt mention where you live. Flouride in the water supply is essential for keeping all your teeth

Dental care is what you need. It will be very expensive since you have never been to one and thee is a lot of work to do. See if there is a dental school int he closest city the charge far less.

PS about the yellow teeth. A 99 cent tube of Ultra Brite works wonders, even better than the strips. You can what you are taking off by the color of your spit when you brush. Grosss but it really does work
Reply:Go to the dentist as soon as possible. Hopefully they'll get better but if it makes you feel any better, it's not completely your fault because like you said your parents shouldve made a bigger deal out of it.
Reply:It's not to late to have your teeth fixed, but it will take sometime. A friend of mine really had bad teeth, after he had them fixed and wore braces for awhile, you can't never tell how bad his teeth was. You can have them repaired.
Reply:First of all you need to quit using the whitening strips ASAP!

Whitening products are very hard on your enamel and makes your teeth more porus and can weaken the enamel more. Also, if you drink sodas a lot or anything else acidic leave that off too! The acid in sodas is very bad for your teeth. Try drinking mostly water.

If you have holes in your teeth that are not cavities, it sounds like the enamel is so thin that it has exposed the next layer ( the dentin). You need to get to a dentist and if you can't afford one, check out local teaching hospitals in your area; the usually have a dental lab accepting new patients based on sliding scale for your income.

Sounds like you will need some restorative work, such as bonding or veneers. Sometimes a high-intensity flouride treatment will help build up the enamel and keep you from getting any more "holes" in your teeth. You should get you teeth sealed with flouride too.

Get rid of those whitening strips! You should go have your teeth seen about as soon as you can...the longer you let them go the more expense it will be or you could lose all of those teeth.
Reply:Now is the time to see the dentist and ask him or her the cause.
Reply:First, Good on you for stopping that habbit. I strongly suggest you go to the dentist. What you have is nasty, and could get ALOT worse. My friend, (11 years) had a tooth ache for about 1 week +. She went to the dentist being in terrible pain, and was told she needed 8 fillings and root canal at 11 years old. You need to go before it gets alot worse. You will probably need a filling on 2, maybe more. They dont hurt, I hate pain, especially in my mouth. Im terrible and I had a filling at 12 years old i think, and it didnt hurt at all, though he said it would. No needle too. Please go to the dentist.
