Paci causes bad teeth?

Does the pacifier affect the direction the babies teeth will grow in?

Paci causes bad teeth?
I used the NUK pacifier with my kids and their teeth are beautiful.

bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers - none of these hurts their teeth.

putting them to bed with milk or juice in a bottle or sippy cup will rot their teeth, tho. only water in them at bedtime, if anything.

and start brushing their teeth everyday as soon as they have even ONE tooth.

as soon as they are old enough, teach them to brush their own teeth, the right way. but always make sure they are brushing good, watch them to be sure.

good luck
Reply:a paci can wear your babies teeth away...my kids have no teeth because of them and sippy cups...skip the sippy cup all together....just let them spill everything everywhere....i told you to quit asking stupid questions mom25 lol
Reply:It may affect the shaping of the palate and yes, to some extent, the position of the teeth.

There are pacifiers that are not so intrusive, ask your babies' dentist.

Yes, you should take your child to the dentist as soon as one or two teeth emerge.

Good question!
Reply:didn't with my lot - but thumb sucking does. Try an orthodontic dummy (pacifier to you); they have a sort of flat shaped teat which is allegedly better for their teet.

More harm is done by not brushing their teeth properly - esp after a milky bedtime drink - and by giving sticky sweet drinks in a baby bottle.
Reply:Hey,

I don't know if pacifiers effect kid's teeth, but Dr. Kim in Wausau may know. He's a great dentist and I highly recommend him if you're in the Wausau area. His website is http://www.wausaudentist.com

Best of Luck!
