1) You can go to your dentist and have a custom made night guard. It takes a couple of weeks to have it made and costs $300-400.

2) You can go to a physician and get Botox injections in your jaw muscles so that the muscles wont clench and you wont have pain. The injections take 5-7 days to take effect, it will cost about $300, and it will last for 3-4 months.

3) There is an over the counter night guard called "Sleep Right". You can find it online and at some chiropractors offices for about $75. (I have one and it works well and is comfortable)

4) You can see a chiropractor for massage and release of that area. (had it done-it's a little painful at first but feels better later)

5) You can take Advil or Aleve to reduce the pain and inflammation.

6) Stop chewing gum and rubbery candy/foods. They overwork the muscles in that area.
Reply:Your dentist can make a special guard for this problem.
Reply:A mouthgaurd is a good idea. I doubt that there are any products for teeth that hurt, mostly it's for the gums. Try gargling with warm water and salt, it may give some relief.
Reply:I believe the first and best option is to consult your periodontist. You may perhaps visit http://www.reliefmd.com/ for the best no-side-effect remedy for the terrible pain you are experiencing with your tooth.
